Where can I find wedding leads?

Answered By Editor

I can think of several ways to obtain wedding leads. One involves purchasing the leads, the other involves making your own list. It really depends on what you are looking for.

For purchasing leads...

Attend bridal shows, both locally and nationwide (if you have the travel budget). If you can't travel to the bridal show, you can often find the show's website online with a list of participating booths (companies). Ask participating companies if they have bride-to-be lists and would they be willing to sell them to you. You'll most likely find that some will sell their lists to you for a reasonable price.

If the companies do not want to sell you their wedding lists but have a well-trafficked website targeting brides-to-be, ask them if they will allow you to advertise on their sites and collect the leads through their sites.

For making your own list...

Other than advertising on targeted wedding and bride-to-be websites and collecting leads for yourself, here's another idea. Go to DailyEarth.com and look up newspapers from targeted U.S. areas or nationwide. Most newspapers have an announcement page for engagements, usually in the "Society" or "Lifestyle" sections. Most will provide which city they are from, some (very few) will even provide an address. Go to YellowBook.com, DexOnline.com or WhitePages.com and look up the names to get their addresses. This can be a painstaking process but can prove fruitful. You can hire someone, even a high school kid do this for you very inexpensively.
