Should I buy inexpensive leads on eBay?

Answered By Editor

I'm not a fan of buying leads on eBay. I've found that most offer junk leads. However, occasionally you can find a worthwhile list there. Do your homework!

It really depends on the quality of the sales leads. Is the information in a usable format? Or will you have to do a lot of re-formatting to before it can be used? A poorly formatted list can cost you time and money. How much information is provided for each lead? Is the information up to date? Is the list outdated? Is anything important missing? Will you have to do more work before using the lead?

In the end, it's the ROI that matters. Are the leads receptive when you contact them? Are they right for your product or service? Are they in the right demographic and regional area? Ultimately, do they buy from you? What is the return on your investment in buying the leads?

You may ask the seller if they would be willing to let you purchase a small portion of the leads to test them out. If they are responsive, purchase the whole list. If they are not, pass.
