How can I determine if a lead is qualified?

Answered By Editor

You've probably filled out one of those surveys for a free subscription to something. The survey asks you questions like "What is your title in your company?" and "What is your influence in purchasing certain products?" and "Do you plan to purchase within the next so many months?" Your answers to those questions will be scored and determine how qualified of a lead you are.

The following are the considerations companies generally use to qualify their prospects:

* The prospect's AUTHORITY in the decision-making process

* The NEED for your product or services

* The TIMEFRAME for purchase or implementation

* The prospect's BUDGET status

* The SIZE of the opportunity (large enough to warrant sales attention) Make questions that will answer the above qualifying standards. Give your prospects multiple choice answers so you can score them to determine their readiness for your sales attention.
