How can I avoid junk leads and find high-quality leads?

Answered By Editor

This is an ongoing concern for growing businesses on a budget. Junk leads are like throwing your money into the toilet and flushing. They can put you in the red for your marketing budget very quickly.

So, how can you avoid the junk leads? Get on a fact-finding mission. Ask questions and don't settle for general answers. To get you started, below are the kinds of questions you should consider asking a lead generation company:

1. How Are Your Leads Collected?

2. How fresh are the leads? How recently were they collected?

3. How many times have the leads been sold?

4. Are these leads targeted? How?

5. How often do you clean these lists?

6. Can you provide testimonials?

7. Find out What Advertising Methods They Use to Get Leads

Finally, really the best way to find high-quality leads is to simply ask. If you know of other website owners who are buying leads and have had success, then simply ask them to suggest a lead company to you. If you have a friend or relative who is buying leads, they will be more likely to be honest with you about what works and what doesn't.

One of the first things I do when looking for a new company to supply fresh, targeted leads is to search for reviews online. There are plenty of them. But, remember, this is just a starting place. You may not be able to trust all reviews, but it does give you someplace to start to research companies.
