Does buying leads really work?

This is kind of a loaded question, and the
answer is "yes" and "no." The problem with
purchasing leads is that most people do it
all wrong.
I can always tell when someone doesn't
have experience with they give advice on
buying leads. They'll say something like,
"You just have to make sure the leads are
fresh," or "Just make sure the leads are
targeted." True enough, but that's really
only scratching the surface.
If truth be known, buying leads can work
extremely well when they are fresh, targeted
AND there is a system in place for funneling
leads -- ultimately resulting in a sale. If
you simply take the leads, fresh or not, and
try to email them directly with your offer,
it is highly likely that purchasing leads
will end up in a futile experience for you.
The sales funnel and follow-up process is vital.
