While buying leads and mailing lists give you immediate prospects to push through your sales funnel, generating your own sales leads gives you far more targeted leads. For this reason, it is easier to make a sale through your own relationship building and sales lead generation.

Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

Utilize holidays to increase your visitors or sales. Give something away free like electronic greeting cards. Or take the postal route and send out holiday cards. Be generous with discounts and hold special holiday promotions.

* Become known as an expert by speaking at seminars. The seminars could be held offline, in a designated online chat room, by telephone or via e-mail.

* Give away some of your products or expertise to help new people on the internet. Ask them to place your link on their website in return. They will also reward you with word-of-mouth advertising.

* Start a free ezine, newsletter or even a club on your web site. People can sign up to receive a free ebook or other information from you each month. Include your own products, links and ads in the ebooks.

* Create a long term relationship with your customer base. Stay in touch with them through an e-zine. As you develop this relationship, you will receive word-of-mouth referrals.
